Join us in an exciting story full of twists, new discoveries, a rich mythology and the search of what lays at the core of the Clans of the mountain. After sealing a pact with two fickle gods, Helios of the Sun and Aletheia of the Moon, twin clans live under the shadow of their pact, and the price paid to live another day.
YOU CAN APPRECIATE THE LIGHT... BUT BEFORE THAT, YOU MUST KNOW DARKNESS.
The Sun and Moon rain down chaos and tragedy over the Clans, as punishment for crimes finally revealed. Tension rises between both groups as they're forced out of their homes, and a call from the past haunts those with enough sense to listen.
Muddyfoot was always a withdrawn and somber individual. Born to a former Windclan she-cat, Stonetooth, and a former Riverclan tom, Dustystep, Muddyfoot was named in the short moments before his mothers death, her body already weakened by sickness, and giving out under the stress of childbirth.
Muddykit and his siblings were quickly transferred to the care of a foster Queen, but he seemed marked by the event nonetheless, preferring to stay in the nursery, shying away from any adult cat aside from his father. When he did play with the other kits it was either without enthusiasm or far too roughly, he did not bask in the stories the elders shared, and some feared that the young Muddykit would be too maladjusted to become a proper member of the clan.
Through bad luck, predation, or sickness, by the time Muddykit was six moons old he was the only living member of his litter, and his father requested permission to take his son as his apprentice, a request that Palestar tentatively approved, and thus Muddykit became Muddypaw, and his training began.
Muddypaw took to Warrior training like a fish to water. It became clear as he grew that he had inherited his fathers impressive size and musculature as well as his mothers longer-than-average legs, a mixture of Riverclan and Windclan genetics that afforded themselves well to the combative arts, and though he made a decent amount of progress in the art of making friends, he made far more in the way of hunting and fighting, his formidable size and impressive reach making him quite the foe on the sparring field. And so for a time, Muddypaw was content, with a place in the clan, and the pride and love of a teacher and a father.
This was not to last.
Almost a year after he was made an apprentice, on the cusp of becoming a Warrior of Sunclan himself, Dustystep and Muddyfoot encountered a pair of Rogues on he edge of Sunclan territory, arguing over a freshly killed hare. Dustystep was in the middle of warning the pair off when they attacked the veteran Warrior, not deterred by the warding wounds they were given, as Dustystep and Muddypaw realized far too late that the pair were more than willing to kill for their next meal. Muddypaw was thrown to thee ground during the melee, winded, watching as his father, in the midst of disabling one of the Rogues, was hit from the back by her partner, claws digging into his ribs, teeth piercing deep into his throat.
Muddypaw recovered his breath, reinvigorated by the sight of the Rogue murdering his father, and leapt upon the tom. In the ensuing fight, the rogue tore both Muddypaws muzzle and ear open and carved deep runnels in his flanks, but ultimately the Apprentices jaws closed around his neck, life giving arteries severed, the death delivered quickly, if messily. The rogues partner, his mate, perhaps, was alive, but heavily wounded. Several swipes of the apprentices claws put an end to her.
Muddypaw spent the next week in Freckleferns den, fighting both infection and despair, though he overcame his wounds and was deemed worthy of becoming a warrior due to his defense of the clans territory, being dubbed Muddyfoot by Palestar. He is still a withdrawn and somber individual, but a caring and even humorous friend can be found beneath his oft-pondering gaze if one makes the effort
