Rise an' Shine Pipsqueak! (Vulturecry + Snappaw)

Wake up bright ‘an early! As mother always said, and damn straight too! 


Vulturecry’s jaws gaped in a large yawn as the she’cat dragged her large dark-furred form from the comforts of her nest, amber hues traveling to inspect the clanmates around her, landing on a particularly unwelcomed feline within the bundle of warriors. A sour taste poured from her gums at the mere sight of the tom. This ain’t all too funny, Fate. A thing such as fate had such a fickle way of presenting itself, throwing unperdicable curveballs; curveballs like the cat who participated in slaughtering her family.


A huff passed her lips as no harsh feelings were felt, after all, how could she hate him? She herself did the same to countless others, and on that day, she too should have been slain, but in cowardice Vulturecry ran, the sight of her fallen loved one’s only confirming that if she stayed, she would be next. 


It seemed like seasons ago, really. No matter, ‘sall said an’ done anyway. S’not like thinkin’ bout it’s gunna bring any o’ them back. And that was all too true wasn't it? The truth didn't hurt, I couldn't, not when death was all the female ever knew, at least until now anywho- There was a brighter horizon on her lonesome days, a short, stalky, scrappy little light that drove her forward, drove her past all her clanmates suspicious stares. Snappaw. The little tom was a spitting resemblance of her older brother Calvis, same rotten mouth too! It brought an amused smile to Vulturecry's features every time, a flicker of her past, a ripple in his future. 


And today, he was in for a treat. Pedidaple paws carried the female into the clearing, her saunter was hefty, confident, as if each step held the whole weight of her body, her long bushy tail raised as if to challenge all who questioned her. Vulturecry was not here for games, and she didn't have the time to amuse soft hearted bitches about her loyalty. 


This lady had a job to do, and her little worker was sleeping in his nest. 


The few apprentices that did know of her story were quick to jump out if her way, huddling together to murmur quietly while sneaking peeks towards her. Vulturecry paid no mind, and she could only assume Snappaw did the same. It was quite the delight seeing the little tom sprawled within his nest, and excitement rose within Vulturecry's chest as she pondered what moves to teach him today, a paw raising to cup the smaller tom's cheek before she gave him a few gentle slaps to the face to wake him up. "Oi pipsqueak! Rise an' shine boy, we got work ta do"
