Join us in an exciting story full of twists, new discoveries, a rich mythology and the search of what lays at the core of the Clans of the mountain. After sealing a pact with two fickle gods, Helios of the Sun and Aletheia of the Moon, twin clans live under the shadow of their pact, and the price paid to live another day.
YOU CAN APPRECIATE THE LIGHT... BUT BEFORE THAT, YOU MUST KNOW DARKNESS.
The Sun and Moon rain down chaos and tragedy over the Clans, as punishment for crimes finally revealed. Tension rises between both groups as they're forced out of their homes, and a call from the past haunts those with enough sense to listen.
The sparkling sunlight screened Rainpaw's emerald eyes as the young tabby made her way from her cosy apprentice nest into the spacious clearing of MoonClan's camp. Columbus clouds stretched their wild wings elegantly as they soared, slowly, over the morning's sky. Awestruck and praying for the roll of thunder, the little cat bounced playfully over to the camp's entrance. The she-cat wondered, joyfully, what it was that her mentor had planned for her today. Anticipation pricked at her paws like the thorns in the strange dream she had just that night. Would they be hunting, she pondered? Rainpaw quite fancied the idea of learning how to stalk, chase, and kill her prey to feed her beloved clan. Or maybe Mushroombelly would teach her how to fight, to battle against opposing cats, in protection of the clan who beheld and raises her to this morning; Rainpaw knew that in all of her future in Moonclan, her mentor would be a huge part of her skills, beliefs, dreams, and future. This had to go well. This will go well, the she-cat told herself as she sat down in wait for her mentor to arrive.
The air was relatively casual in temperature for leaf-fall, perhaps slightly on the cooler side. Rainpaw was a cat who much preferred hot weather, although the only reason for this quick preference was because it was more likely to storm in the warmer seasons. Rainpaw had heard of the menacing rampage caused by the terrible snow-caused storm at the Gathering two moons ago. She herself had not personally been there to witness it, although she would have liked to have found herself caught in the centre of the monster's depths, full of exhilaration and adrenaline pulsing as fast as it could ever pulse. That scene, the image Rainpaw wished were real, really was quite odd for any cat to wish for. However, the she-cat could never wish harm on others; she did not long for a storm for the sole purpose of watching the other cats suffer and feel pain. No, she was not heartless enough for that, of all things - the apprentice simply wanted to feel the excitement she always feels when thinking about being reckless... without breaking the warrior code, I suppose, she realised only half-heartedly.
Forcing her eager body to relax as she continued waiting for Mushroombelly's prompt arrival, Rainpaw contemplated the intolerable tempest that had surrounded that Gathering, almost two moons ago now. Why, oh why was she so desperate to have been there? Surely, in the terms of any other cat, she should feel grateful for not being at that great, frightening gale, and should hope with a tenacious passion for no snowstorm so excruciating to ever strike SunClan and MoonClan again? That must be what all the other cats are hoping for. Rainpaw, however, could only find herself praying time and time again for such a storm to appear once more, but this time she would be present in those moments. The tabby let out a stressed sigh, and once again glanced up to see if her mentor was coming. Focus on today's lesson, Rainpaw, whether it be hunting or fighting. Just, anything but this! She had to admit, there was more on her mind than she could ever express, even if she were just a small apprentice. Holding her breath as an attempt to calm herself, Rainpaw told herself that her worries meant nothing towards the dignity and protection of her Clan; whatever she was experiencing mattered less than a single raindrop in a thunderstorm. Biting her lip and preparing herself for today's session, the apprentice tried to pull herself together and focus - hopefully, her mentor wouldn't notice her worried demeanour and she would forget these problems after a long period of warrior training.
