if i'm a danger to myself Just think what I could do to you Soothawk of Moonclan |
Wind tussled the grass and leaves, which were just beginning to brown as autumn closed in on the land. The sun was out, warming the sun-kissed hill of Helios's land and sending thin shafts through the trees of Moonclan's woods. It's getting colder, he noted quietly as he slipped through the trees on near-silent paws, practically invisible among the shadows of the forest he called home. He knew he shouldn't be wandering alone, especially when his leg had yet to fully heal, but sometimes a quiet hunt through the woods was exactly what someone needed. Besides, nobody would complain about the plump thrush he carried- except maybe his sister, but that couldn't be helped.
Emerald-green and sky-blue eyes flashed as he paused near the treeline, gazing out at the bright lands of Sunclan territory. His thoughts wandered freely, and he wondered what ever came of the clever she-cat who'd bested him in sparring. She'd been striking and clever, her fighting excellent compared to his own bumbling about- something he'd admit freely, knowing his own talents lay elsewhere. Of course, she hadn't made it in the end either. How an apprentice had bested them all, he had no clue, but there was little doubt the young tom was talented.
How lucky to be naturally gifted, where others spent hours trying to learn.
With a soft snort, he turned to melt back into the woods, when a familiar scent drifted across the stream. His ears pricked with open interest, and he lingered, searching for its source. A flash of movement caught his attention, and a grin settled across his muzzle as he watched the she-cat stretch luxuriously before rolling over, her back to him. His paws carried him out of the treeline almost unconsciously, stepping into the sunlit grass that bordered the small, bubbling creek with practiced silence.
"Enjoying the sunshine, sweetheart?" he hummed from behind her, his thrush plopping to the ground at his paws. Mismatched eyes danced with laughter as he called out. "Careful now! I've got plenty of clanmates who wouldn't be quite so pleased to find a Sunclanner so close to their border."
