Join us in an exciting story full of twists, new discoveries, a rich mythology and the search of what lays at the core of the Clans of the mountain. After sealing a pact with two fickle gods, Helios of the Sun and Aletheia of the Moon, twin clans live under the shadow of their pact, and the price paid to live another day.
YOU CAN APPRECIATE THE LIGHT... BUT BEFORE THAT, YOU MUST KNOW DARKNESS.
The Sun and Moon rain down chaos and tragedy over the Clans, as punishment for crimes finally revealed. Tension rises between both groups as they're forced out of their homes, and a call from the past haunts those with enough sense to listen.
The bright morning sun was now shining down through the trees of Moonclan and the long furred diluted calico sat under the safety of the tree. After, finding out Witheredrose the deputy was her and Crookedfrost’s brother who had abandoned the two of them. Pissed off was an understatement when the she-cat got back to camp. An avoiding being within ten feet of the precious deputy of Moonclan. “Hmmmph should’ve left the demon hawks to attack him.” Hissing out the reply to herself as she looked up from the ground where she was scuffling her paws to avoid any company around her. Blinking her blue eyes as she landed them on the medicine cat den, hoping Baystorm was inside so she could go talk to the blue bengal she-cat. Lifting herself up to her paws as Cherryshine went into a slow trot to get to the den, in a faster pace. “B-Baystorm….are you in here? Do-do you need help with anything or want to look at my shoulder from the demon bird throwing me into Mothblaze?” huffing out the question as she sat down and waited for Baystorm to come, giving once glance around the medicine cat den and not wanting to interrupt her if she was busy with a more important patient.
Things had been quite different since the hawk attack. Between the trauma of watching a kitten get snatched up, all of the injuries, and the death of their own leader hanging over their heads, everyone was in quite the mood. Baystorm herself had still been doing her best to tend to her own wounds in between those of everyone else, she had barely gotten any time to properly heal up from the wounds dealt by the foxes before the hawks came and the events of each weighed heavily on her mind with each passing day.
Today it was the pretty face of Cherryshine that was illuminated by the light that poured into her den, rays of sunshine catching and reflecting off of her pelt as she shuffled her way in. Baystorm nosed her way out from her own private area of her den, deciding that rest would just need to be put on hold for a while longer. "I'm here." The bengal announced as she picked her way over to the warrior.
The blue molly instantly took to a quick little examination, looking the healing wound over before deciding to grab a little herb blend from her storage and spoke while she did. "So, Cherryshine, how have you been feeling since the incident with the hawks?" Baystorm inquired, knowing that mental health was just as much a part of her job as a patient's physical health. There had been a little added salt in the wound for this warrior it seemed.
A moment of silence hushed the she-cat as she flicked her ears foreword to listen to the soothing voice of the blue and white bengal that she classified as a friend per say. Baystorm was one to call her out on her quirks which she very move enjoyed. Everyone needed a friend like Baystorm that didn’t give a damn on if she hurt your feelings or not. “I’m doing good Baystorm…I just my shoulder’s kinda hurting that and-and I was wondering if I can let you in on a secret…. you have to promise that you won’t tell anyone.” Cherryshine pausing for a moment as her whiskers twitched now debating on whether to tell the medicine cat her secret that made her grumpy. Ever since finding out that Witheredrose was her littermate that had abandoned them all so long ago. All her life it had just been Crookedfrost, her and Crookedfrost taking on the world together till they joined Moonclan. Now the family drama was churning in her stomach making the dilute calico in a bitter mood and not having that many clanmates close to her that she could spill all her emotions too.
Cherryshine pausing another moment as she flicked her fluffy multi-colored tail over her paws to curl it up and then unravel it, the simple act was comforting as she unsheathed her claws into the soil below her. Even, the mere thought of Witheredrose, the name sent a growl to rumble out of her throat. “Do you know that the precious deputy of all cats is related to Crookedfrost and I? He’s our bro-brother by blood but, I’m not his family. I don’t see why Spiritstar made him deputy….but of course I didn’t know that we’re related till the demon hawk incident.” Blurting out the secret and hanging her head lower as she shuffled her paws onto the floor, while her body tensed in all the emotions that were flooding through her. “Yo-you don’t mind me ranting about this now do you Baystorm? Y-you’re the only friend I really trust with this secret besides Crookedfrost of course.” Nodding her head gently as she trailed off and crouched down so Baystorm could get a look at her shoulder scratch.
Upon hearing the words that began to tumble out of the warrior's mouth, Baystorm decided she may as well take a seat and settled back onto her haunches. It wasn't uncommon for patients to approach the clan healers with ailments of the mind just as they did with those of the body, but it was often something that simple herbs and remedies could not fix. At least it was a change of pace, if nothing else, from the steady revolving in and out of patients she had maintained in the past few moons.
Cherryshine had always been a bit... difficult to get along with, at least to most others. Baystorm herself was rather neutral to the subject but, then again, there wasn't much that could quite get under her skin. It helped that the other molly seemed to appreciate that quality about her, making their interactions all the easier for the both of them. Tall ears cupped forward as the pretty femme finally let the thoughts that plagued her slip past her lips, unspoken thoughts crossing behind the healer's gaze for a few moments before she would respond.
"Your brother huh?" She mused, tail tip twitching with the thought. The bengal couldn't say she was leaning one way or the other on how she felt about it - it seemed to just be a quiet little secret that happened to come out as they all did. For a moment she thought of her own family - all of them cold in the ground now other than Soothawk. "Well, you know now that you have another sibling and he's still living. I don't know your history so tell me, what about him upsets you?"
Cherryshine flicked her ears foreword in a silent thank you that Baystorm was taking time to listen to her rant about the deputy. “Yes, I do have another brother Crookedfrost who I’m closer to that I refer to as my immediate kin. Witheredrose on the other hand is not my brother and never will be.” The venom laced words escaping out as she rolled her shoulders back, while picking up one paw to rasp her tongue over it. The diluted calico paused for a moment calculating her next words wisely. “Well, you see Baystorm, Crookedfrost and I were born to a cat named Baby and a tom who abused my brothers named Ripper. He-he wasn’t the nicest, but he was our dad, and I didn’t see anything wrong with him. I-I he-he Witheredrose left us to die. One day our father got mad at something we did and lashed out at all-all of us.” Cherryshine taking a moment to breathe in the oxygen around her into her smaller lungs. “He-He clawed my brothers and then Wi-Witheredrose ran, and he left us in a time when we needed him the most!” the complicated emotions tumbling out as she flicked her tail over her paws, tightening it, then letting it uncoil.
Staying silent again for another mere minute to calculate her thoughts again. It was if she was reliving the same nightmare again with how Witheredrose had abandoned them. “He ran and didn’t even come back. So, finding out the other day that he’s in the same clan and the deputy was just more memories I didn’t want back.” telling some of the background information on the family drama as she hung her head down low for a minute. Why was family so complicated? Why couldn’t it be all happy instead of felling like one of the demon birds was attacking her insides. Blinking her blue eyes back up to Baystorm’s with a sigh escaping out of conflicted emotions that had been weighing down on the she. “Is your family that complicated, or do you get along with your brother?” a slight hope filling into her eyes that someone else’s family dynamic was a bit messed up like hers.
