I might be okay but I'm not fine at all
The gathering had come and gone and with it there was new life given to the she. For the first time in what had been far too long Frecklefern couldn’t stop smiling. The grin had almost fused itself to her face after that moment she had shared in the woods with Cariboucloud. Emotions that had been building for longer than she even knew had finally bubbled over and the conclusion was one that was much better than she had ever could have imagined. Since that moment the healer had felt more like herself than she had since she left that graveyard. For the past days she no longer hid away in her den during the day. Though the temperatures had fallen she had taken back to resting on the sunning stones, going to the nursery to check on Pansypelt and Plumpetal, even actively enjoying the company of the warriors which still guarded her when she left the camp. Even if nothing had changed since that night, all it took was a change in demeanor for the mottled she to find away and enjoy life again.
Yet as happy as she felt there was still something else that hung heavy over her. She had worked towards making amends with Snappaw and Muddyfoot in the past moon, but the one she owed the most to she had been avoiding. But now, there was time for that no more. Even if the bridges she had burned between them could never be repaired, it didn’t meant that she shouldn’t try. The sun emerged from the horizon and with it a chance to start again. The stream through the camp captured the light from their god as it swirled in its flowing waters. Frecklefern watched the scene for a moment as she grabbed a large rabbit off of the fresh kill pile. As she turned to walk away the healer swore she heard the god speak.
“Don’t question one’s choices. Find a way to begin again.”
With that sound Frecklefern pushed her way into the leader’s den. The home was much how she had seen it before though it felt different. It hadn’t felt as warm and inviting, though it had been clear she hadn’t been desired within his space. She set the rabbit down at her chocolate dipped paws, peering into the den as she didn’t wish to invade more than she already had. “Fallin’? I ain’t know if ya up, or want to see me, but I brought ya something to eat.”
