DEWPAW
Words
" It's Not A Sin If It Don't Make Me Cry"
Beady glossed orbs stared upon it's perpetrator, the hollow obsidian rounds of glass unmoving within it's very skull. Not even a flinch escaped the being as the cold winds blew, could as the stiff limbs upon its body, cold as the stilled blood within it's veins, cold as it's unbeating heart.
Dare he say, it would as cold as death itself.
And yet-
Tall limbs shifted as jittering muscles offered nothing more than restlessness, a paw raising slowly as ruby hues inspected the liquid upon it. With uninterested dullness, those ruby hues narrowed ever so slightly. A body so cold, and yet the blood upon his paws was still warm. Distaste filled the feline's maw as his gaze dropped to the lifeless body below, the battered corpse of a badger resting mere mouse-lengths away. The creature was young, barely bigger than the shortest warrior, yet far dumber than a dog. Such confident glee burned within those glossy black eyes, this was the first time Witheredrose had seen such fear in the gaze of a predator. "Pitiful." In it's last moments, the cub had whimpered and cried, causing a much unwanted stirr to rumble within the deputy. This thing….It was like her.
Lips tugged in a thin line as mock bewilderment painted the tom's face, optics seemingly staring at nothing as he faced the being. Cherryshine had done the same, many a-time had she nearly killed him, she and their brother taking turns in their abuse. But when death turned upon her, the pathetic girl cried to be saved. Cried as though she deserved a better chance than those beaten beneath her. Anger burned beneath the tom's pelt like wildfire, mouth tilting into a frown as a paw placed itself upon the badger's curanium. " You don't get to cry when you're the one who attacked first-" The tom spoke, his unwavering voice devoid of all but disgust. Witheredrose's muscles seemed to tremble under the weight of his rage, mangled emotions swirling within as teeth clenched to the point of aching.
Fuck-Fuck!
Why? Why were they here? How did they survive father? Was it punishment, or irony? How much time did he have before they confessed his sin? Is that why they're here at all? Was this punishment for his crimes?
Claws curled as anxiety wriggled like maggots within his stomach, a long lost desperation plaguing the reason within his mind. They can't- It would strip him of his rank and trust within the clan! Or worse be kicked out for sure, left to die in the wastelands…. Impossible. It was not his destiny to be anything else, he was to lead this clan to paradise. Only then could he be free from this hellish world, but to get there-
I have to survive.
No matter what the cost. He had to survive. It wouldn't be the first time he had to silence a barking dog, and he doubted it would be his last. But- Irritation escaped the tom in the form of a 'tch!' as ruby hues lowered upon his own paws once more. No matter how hard he tried, he could not ignore the aching guilt of every moment woken since that day. No amount of convincing could force him to truly believe his siblings deserved their punishment that day, no amount of denial could cover the molecular feeling of relief he held deep within upon the day he learned they were alive. Nothing. Witheredrose offered a sigh of unleashed defeat as his rigged features seemed to relax into his usual laid-back manner, paws turning to pad towards the stream upon the border. A mess like this was best to clean quickly.
That pathetic cub had lost from the start
The deputy made quick work of the short trek to the stream, hiding within a bush as he peered out in order to check for visitors. As silence dragged on, the pale fur tom began to shift forward, nearly about to step out from hiding before a startling screech splitted the air. And yet it appeared to come from Sunclan territory, riiiight-... there. Within the trees above cried a cream furred tom, the twinned tails unmistakably that of fabled Dewpaw. Interest distracted the deputy for a mere heartbeat as he gazed upon the apprentice, intrigued by the rumors he had heard and the proof he had seen before his very eyes. This tom was quite an interesting one, with an even more curious background~ but as to why he was screeching on the border? I would like to find out. There's enough time to move the badger later. There was something within that passionate yell of Dewpaw', an anger that couldn't be tamed. Witheredrose had been meaning to speak to this tom quite a few times, what better opportunity was there than this?
Disregarding his own appearance, the deputy stepped out, crimson hues matching that of the splatters upon his fur as they sparked towards the smaller tom, and as he spoke, only a nonchalant ring was held within.
" Spiritstar has only shared stories of the twin-tailed cat residing within Sunclan, it is an honor to meet you, Nekomata~" The deputy had heard fables from his father of such a monster, a twin-tailed demon that hid within the mountains, terrorizing and devouring mankind. Of course it was merely a story, and yet a damn good nickname for a tom such as this. Eh? A small smile seemed to touch the albino's lips as he tipped his head in curiosity. " What's troubling a little devil such as yourself?"
Dare he say, it would as cold as death itself.

" He's Not The Devil Lest There's Fire In His Eyes "
