A Tangled Practice ~Pipitpaw & Rainpaw~ ~~~ ~ ℜ𝔞𝔦𝔫𝔭𝔞𝔴 ~ 𝔐𝔬𝔬𝔫ℭ𝔩𝔞𝔫 𝔄𝔭𝔭𝔯𝔢𝔫𝔱𝔦𝔠𝔢 ~
Aviated branches soared their wings through the air above, and Rainpaw nearly squinted underneath them before realising the risks of climbing that tree. Being dispatched on a hunting mission with another apprentice for the first time wasn't quite Rainpaw's forte, but she found herself feeling almost equanimous - Pipitpaw was a more demure young she-cat, and Rainpaw was delighted to have this opportunity to be able to share her daring taunts with another cat of her age. She remembered how her mentor always scolded her for being too perilous with her actions, but wasn't that the beauty of risks? The minute chance that possibly, something horrible and frightening could occur, elating her veins and presenting her with the energy of a thousand suns. That was the feeling of danger Rainpaw adored.
Considering that Pipitpaw and Rainpaw were only told to walk past the tree of entangled mysteries, Rainpaw couldn't help but stop in her tracks as she padded by. Glancing up into the twisted tongues of bark that threatened the skies, her jaw almost gaped open in awe. Who cares if their hunting mission was closer to the SunClan border than this? Rainpaw wanted to climb, and knowing how far against what she was told that pausing here would be, that only motivated her further. It was an apprentice who climbed this tree's arms in the first place; who's to say these apprentices couldn't do it? And it wasn't like their mentors were watching this trip - they could always simply lie about it later. As long as they caught some prey and claimed it to have been caught in the correct location, nothing else really counted as part of their practice.
"Hey, Pipitpaw!" Rainpaw called, waving her brown tabby tail tipped with white in the direction of the other apprentice. "How about we stop for a bit and climb the Tangled Root? We have ages to hunt, anyway."
Bounding over on her white-tipped tabby paws, the electrified apprentice crawled up onto one of the impressive tree's massive roots that stuck proudly out of the ground before resting in the dirt. Her pretty white paws nearly turned a dark brown as mud scratched against her claws. With pride Rainpaw spun around. "So, how about it?"
